No. 10 Texas A&M secured a decisive 48-20 victory against Arizona State on Saturday, breaking open a competitive contest with a pair of defensive touchdowns in the final quarter. While the Aggies' offense faced periods of inconsistency throughout the afternoon, their defensive unit ultimately proved the difference-maker in College Station.

Quarterback Marcel Reed finished the game completing 15 of 25 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns, though he also threw one interception. Despite the offense struggling to find a consistent rhythm, the Aggies maintained control for much of the game before the defense effectively sealed the result late in the second half.

Defensive Dominance Defines Second Half

The game remained within reach for Arizona State for three quarters, but the momentum shifted decisively in the final frame. After Reed connected with Mario Craver for a 33-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 31-20, the Aggies' defense took over. Following a fumble by Texas A&M’s Tyler White, Arizona State gained possession on the 34-yard line. However, the threat was neutralized immediately when T.J. Searcy pressured Arizona State quarterback Cutter Boley, forcing a turnover that defensive end Marco Jones returned 55 yards for a touchdown.
