Hindu Temple in Ohio Vandalised in Targeted Brick Attack

A Hindu temple located in the Greater Cleveland area of Ohio was targeted in an act of vandalism on Friday afternoon, according to reports from advocacy organisations. The Shree Swaminarayan Hindu Temple Vadtaldham sustained damage to its structure, including shattered windows, after bricks were thrown at the building while priests and members of the congregation were present inside.

While there have been no reports of physical injuries to those inside the temple at the time of the incident, the attack has prompted calls for a swift investigation. The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) has publicly urged local officials, including Richmond Heights Mayor Kim Thomas and the local police department, to address the incident and identify the perpetrator.

Advocacy Groups Call for Action and Condemnation

In the wake of the vandalism, several Hindu American organisations have raised concerns regarding the safety of religious institutions. CoHNA issued a statement on social media calling for the condemnation of what it described as an act of bigotry. The organisation is seeking immediate police intervention to ensure the security of the community and the temple premises.
