Donald Trump's Childhood Home in Queens Sells for Nearly $2 Million

The childhood home of Donald Trump, located in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens, New York, has been sold for $1.93 million. The Tudor-style property, which served as the residence for the Trump family until the future president turned four, underwent a significant transformation before the recent transaction was finalized.

The sale follows a period of extensive interior renovations led by developer Tommy Lin. After acquiring the five-bedroom, three-bathroom house for $835,000 last year, Lin reportedly invested approximately $500,000 into an eight-month restoration project. The overhaul addressed previous issues of neglect and water damage, introducing modern amenities such as herringbone wood flooring, spa-inspired bathrooms, and a professional-grade chef's kitchen.

A History of Ownership and Renovation

The property, originally constructed by Fred Trump in 1940, has experienced a fluctuating market history in recent years. Following its period of vacancy and deterioration—which included reports of water damage from a burst pipe and the presence of feral cats—the home was purchased by Lin to be refurbished for the market. This marks a notable change from its condition when it was previously listed for $2.9 million in 2019, a price point that failed to attract a buyer at the time.
