Reports of a surprise visit to Moscow by CIA Director John Ratcliffe remain unconfirmed by both Washington and the Kremlin, even as US intelligence warns of potential Russian provocations against NATO allies.

Unconfirmed Reports of CIA Director’s Moscow Visit Amid Rising Tensions

Reports have emerged suggesting that CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an unannounced visit to Moscow on Tuesday. While flight tracking data and statements from anonymous officials have fueled speculation regarding the trip, neither the United States government nor the Kremlin has officially confirmed his presence in the Russian capital.

The reports gained traction following data from FlightRadar24, which indicated that a US military C-17 aircraft diverted from a flight path between Latvia and the United States to land in Moscow. When questioned about the flight, a spokesperson for the Latvian Defense Ministry stated they could not provide details, noting that the aircraft was not operated by their national armed forces.

Official Responses and Intelligence Assessments

The Kremlin has explicitly denied that any discussions are scheduled with a US envoy. During a press briefing on Tuesday, Russian government spokesperson Dmitry Peskov addressed the rumors directly, stating that there are no plans for such talks and that he possessed no information regarding a visit by the CIA director.
