Legal Proceedings and Evidence
During the trial, the court heard testimony regarding allegations involving two other women in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. While Dhariwal had initially faced rape charges related to these international incidents, the Crown Prosecution Service ultimately dropped those specific counts, citing a lack of jurisdiction to prosecute offences occurring in those locations. Despite the charges being dismissed, the court permitted the accounts of these two women to be presented as bad character evidence against the defendant.
Detective Constable Clare Hickman of the Thames Valley Police acknowledged the participation of all three women involved in the proceedings. She commended the primary victim for her persistence throughout the investigation and trial, while also noting the courage of the other two witnesses in providing their accounts to the court. Hickman stated that all three women demonstrated significant resilience and dignity throughout the legal process.
Sentencing and Current Status
Dhariwal, a resident of Southall who served as an in-flight cabin crew lead for the airline, remains on strict conditional court bail. He is scheduled to return to Reading Crown Court on October 29 for his sentencing hearing.
