The Ministry of Interior aims to enhance the organization and efficiency of the recruitment process by centralizing all procedures through governorate-level service centers.
In addition to the approved countries, the ministry has placed restrictions on recruitment from 27 other nations. This decision was informed by assessments and recommendations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Public Authority for Manpower. The circular specifies that some restrictions are targeted at female domestic workers, while others apply to a wider range of recruitment categories.
Officials indicated that diplomatic and administrative factors were considered when compiling the updated list of approved countries. Some of the nations affected by the new regulations have official representation in Kuwait, while others do not. This nuanced approach reflects the complexities involved in international labor relations and the need for careful oversight in the recruitment of domestic workers.
